Floyd Gottfredson on Bill Walsh

SABA:...Did you plot that story where Mickey falls asleep or something and he goes into the future, and Black Pete has all these robots marching around?
GOTTFREDSON: No, this is another Bill Walsh story.
SABA: That's an amazing story.
GOTTFREDSON: Oh, you bet it is. This is a man with an amazing imagination and sense of humor and so on. Before he came into the studio he was public relations man for Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, also Burns and Allen, and he wrote all the published stuff that was attributed to Gracie Allen. Bill wrote all this stuff.
SABA: Is that so?
GOTTFREDSON: You'd have sworn Gracie wrote them. This is how versatile and great he was.
